Shear Madness is the Comedy Whodunit That Lets the Audience Solve the Crime! Set in present-day Georgetown, Shear Madness engages locals and visitors alike as armchair detectives to help solve the scissor-stabbing murder of a famed concert pianist. The show combines up-to-the-minute improvisational humor and audience sleuthing to deliver a unique performance each night. Don’t forget to take in the amazing view of the Potomac from the Kennedy Center patio during intermission. If time allows go for a drink at the Georgetown Waterfront or have dinner. Link

Destination Maternity's New Store & Heidi's Fabulous Collection
This seems to be a great time to be pregnant. Not only is Heidi Klum lending her fashion talents to A Pea in a Pod, but the DC Metro area now has a new Destination Maternity opening in Fairfax Corner. For those unfamiliar with Destination Maternity, it is a maternity wear store that blends the collections of Motherhood Maternity, A Pea in a Pod and A Pea in a Pod Collection. I recently took a peak inside the new Destination Maternity Store in Fairfax Corner. Wow! It is light years beyond my experience with Motherhood Maternity. The shop has a section replete with club chairs and a flat screen, no doubt for waiting dads and family. It also has a small play area for kids. Of course future moms will love the endless selection of all things maternity wear. Don’t forget Heidi Klum’s new lines, Lavish and Loved, hit stores February 12, 2010. What A Divine Blog ~ Brooklyn Limestone In Progress
I am constantly on the look out for inspirational websites. I can easily get lost in a decorating and design website that intrigues me. While preparing for a recent bathroom renovation, I stumbled onto this amazing site! I am in awe of the woman who writes the blog Brooklyn Limestone In Progress. Mrs. Limestone, as she is known on her Flickr account, does a wonderful job of sharing her phenomenal remodeling success on her Brooklyn home through gorgeous pictures and descriptive blogs. She also chronicles her travel experiences through engaging photography. She must be a professional photographer. In addition to her remodeling pictures she also shares pics of travels to exotic locales with her husband. And yes there is more! Now that her renovation is done, she is focusing on some hardcore Martha Stewart-esque creations. Menus for parties, artfully made Christmas cards, spatulas with personalized cards at a recent cookie exchange and charming buffets that are set up for life’s special events; these are just a small sampling of what resides on her intoxicating pages. As mentioned all of this is comingled with photography from her trips to Bali, Europe and, of course, Manhattan. Her photos are just gorgeous! Preschool 101 - How To Tackle The Process Of Selecting A Preschool
Let’s face it preschool is a big step for most parents and children. This is the first “official” school setting that your young child will be experiencing. And…despite the fact that this is one of the first “Big” developmental milestones for your little one, it will be you that is obsessing and stressing over the decision and process surrounding preschool selection. I went into the process with the faint memory of my years in preschool. Your parent signs you up and off you go. Now have fun and listen to the teacher…right? Wrong! First you need to select from an insane number of preschool options in our area. There is curriculum, class size, hours, religion, price, teacher tenure, security and more to consider when choosing where Junior will spend his days coloring. Of course today’s preschools offer much more than finger painting and snacks. Some higher end schools have these kids learning Russian and dissecting frogs (I kid you not!). I implore you, have a glass of wine, sit down and chill out. Your munchkin is not destined for a life of crime if he doesn’t get into “The Best” preschool in town.
