ABCs Of Getting Organized!
We first ran this story in Spring 08. We dusted it off for folks that might want a refresher on getting organized in 2009.
Here are 10 tips to make your home and mind less cluttered!
A. Tackle Storages Issues.
- Tackle the change of seasons head on. It is messing and time consuming to organize the clothes in your home, but you need face the beast. Start the process with your kids' 07-08 Fall/Winter gear. Clothes should be sorted in piles including: KEEP, TOSS, DONATE or SELL. Toss the gear that is so stain ridden that is it officially a DNA experiment. Keep the clothes that you want for yourself or family. Donate the items that might have worn out their welcome for

The cookies have been eaten, the eggnog is all gone, and it is time for us to MOVE!!
Don't wait until the new year to start your routine again, begin now.
Stand up. Put on your shoes. and move, move, MOOOOOOOVE!!
That is what I had to tell myself this weekend. It's tough to get going again, but I am glad that I did.
I also was able to workout with a 20 lb weighted walking vest, thanks to the folks over at Valeo.
I was VERY surprised at how tough this made my workout! I wore it while walking on the treadmill and I was huffing and puffing after just a few minutes. It really made me think about just how much harder our bodies have to work when we are carrying an extra twenty pounds.
I also wore

There I was 6 weeks after having our baby boy and 30 pounds heavier trying on cocktail dresses for my husband's company Christmas party.
As my daughter played with her dollhouse in her room and the baby slept, I dug deep in the back of my closet to see if a red strapless dress I wore to a company party two years ago would fit.
I took a deep breath, shimmied it over my hips and started to zip it up while hoping it would make it beyond my waist and I could stave off a breakdown. The zipper stopped at my back. Even a few grunts and groans couldn't get it up to contain my back and chest.
As I prepared myself for a breakdown, my daughter runs into my room, mouth wide open and says,

I recently received a review copy of Lullaby Exercises from Chicks-n-Chickens and it is a fantastic DVD for all new moms!
It gets you up and moving while being able to hold your little one close. My firstborn was very cranky and I spent many a night walking the floor, wondering how to get him to just stop crying. I know this DVD would have been just what I needed; the swaying and dancing to the music would have been good for both of us.
Since my ‘chickens' are now too big for me to hold during the workout, we decided to do it together. The moves were easy to learn, the music was fun, and we were all smiling (and sweating)!
Lullaby Exercises was created by Darcy Novo Albrech, who created

If you are a Seinfeld fan, you should be familiar with the celebration known as Festivus. If you have no idea what I am talking about, click over
here for a brief description.
Let us begin with the airing of the fitness grievances! Here are a few of mine:
- People at the gym who sweat everywhere and don't bother to clean it up.
- A fitness instructor who has ZERO energy, especially at 5:30 in the morning.
- People who talk non-stop during an aerobics class. If you are chatting with your neighbor, you are NOT working out. This also applies to people who are jabbering on their cell phone.
- Arriving at the gym and realizing you left your Ipod at home.
- Planning to workout during the kids' nap

This is great story that was forwarded to me from a reporter, Carson Lindsey Krislov. You still have time to bring the family down to The Ritz Carlton -Pentagon City to see the life-size gingerbread house now until January 2, 2009.
Life-sized recipe for no small condo

WASHINGTON-Once upon a time, there was a house built, made out of: "Two thousand bricks of gingerbread," Christian Gardara said of the life-sized, candy-decorated gingerbread house on display at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Pentagon City near Washington, D.C.
"You can eat everything in the gingerbread house," said Gardara who is the food and beverage director at the hotel.

It is not often that I get this excited about an album. I am a fickle radio listener and often times just buy or download the music that will get me through my endless runs on the treadmill. Recently I found myself leaving the Christmas station on Sirius to find any of Beyoncé's new songs. My daughter was a bit ticked that "Frosty the Snowman" was being replaced with "Single Ladies - Put a Ring On It". I couldn't resist. After going on iTunes I had to have 4 more songs from Beyoncé's new album, I Am... Sasha Fierce.
You can find downloads and the album on iTunes or on Amazon. This is, in my humble opinion, her best album yet! Final note, "Broken-Hearted Girl" and "If I Were a

I turned on the Discovery Health channel the other night and got hooked on the show "Big John, One Year Later". It is the story of a 400lb teenager who decides to have weight loss surgery.
The boy is just 17 and it really broke my heart to watch. The whole time I was thinking "oh please don't let this happen to my boys".
The cameras follow John at home and school, where he struggles both physically and emotionally. He has very few friends and endures a lot of teasing. John decides to have the surgery because he just wants to be "normal". His parents agree it is the best decision for him and his mom knows what John is getting into-she had the surgery herself a few years back.
John's journey

Ugh, I'm sick. I've had a cold since Thursday and I just can't seem to shake it. Luckily it is not the flu. But it's wiping me out nonetheless. However, lest you think that stopped me from running aorund like a maniac this weekend, let me set the record straight...
Friday I took a sick day from work to "rest." Yeah right. I ended up running mad errands. I got my hair done, did a return at the mall, bought an outfit for Saturday's holiday party, picked up our holiday cards, and took the girls to the library after school to get a book in order to be prepared for Saturday. Friday evening we (finally) out up the tree! Thank heavens for "shatterproof" ornaments. Really, I have no idea why it was

This is a picture from an article in the latest issue of Runner's World. I kind of glossed over the page until I got to the words "Plus Size Women".
Am I missing something here? Is she really a plus-size model and I just don't see it?
