Feeling full from all that turkey and pie?
Me too, which is why my new Lee jeans are giving me extra
incentive to get MOVING more this holiday season. I received a pair of Lee® One True Fit Premium Bootcut jeans, which are fantastic, especially if they looked as good on me as they do on the model in this picture!
While they technically do fit me, they are a little snug. (translation: I can barely breathe!) I purposely ordered a size smaller than I normally wear as an incentive to keep me from gaining this holiday season. This is just the kick in the pants (pun intended) that I need. After all, who wants to sit around in super tight jeans?
So gang, I am encouraging you to go against the grain

As a busy mama, with a small business, full time job and 2 kids under the age of 3, I am always looking for places and opportunities to make my life and those of my clients easier. One of my favorite sites to scour is Citibabes, a NY based, family lifestyle center with indoor play area, classes and a first class boutique -- it is a must stop on your NYC tour.
But another great resource is their CitiScoop Newsletter, chock full of tips and resources, here is an excerpt of one that I thought timely to share.
Financially Fit Kids Tips
1) Teach Kids to Walk Their Talk: Decide what is really important and let kids know that their choices show their values.
2) Introduce an alternative to Stuff.
3)

In this time of crazy sales both in store and online, I'd like to draw your attention to a very worthy cause.
S.O.M.E. which stands for So Others Might Eat has a holiday request that is great for the whole family.
Shoebox Gifts
A shoebox gift is a shoebox filled with personal items useful to a homeless man, woman, or child. We ask that you PLEASE WRAP THE LID AND BOX SEPARATELY. This will help SOME staff and volunteers to insure that the shoebox contents are equitable. Also, please place a tag on the outside of each box designating whether it is for a "MAN", "WOMAN", or "CHILD."
In the case of a shoebox gift for a child, please also indicate the age range (and gender, if applicable) of the

The sky is falling! Run for cover! The world is ending! Listen to the media enough and you would think real estate is the bubonic plague. Listening to the national media is like listening to the national weather report. What matters is where you are and where you are going. The stuff in the middle, well, that's someone else's problem.
Sure, Northern Virginia and the DC market in general have been hit by the declining real estate market. But, let's take a closer look. Can we agree that the statistics the media is flooding the airways with are always going to be "historical"? Let's see, the numbers for the market have recently been published for the 3rd quarter of 2008. We are almost

Ok so every year, I look forward to getting the 12 Days of Christmas Cookie newsletter from Food Network.
Here's a teaser from today's newsletter. Alton Brown's Paradise Macaroons. They look seriously yummy with all that coconut, chocolate and toasted macadamia nuts.
Click here to access the recipe. Yum!

My least favorite piece of fitness equipment is the elliptical. Since I am still dealing with my injured foot, I have been spending a lot of time on ellipticals and have started to dread working out.
Spending 30-40 minutes on this boring machine is complete torture. My mind wanders, I get easily irritated by those around me (especially the ones running on the treadmills!) and end up wishing the minutes away. Sometimes, with the help of a good magazine or TV show, I can occupy my mind long enough to get a fairly decent workout.
So when I saw this picture, I literally laughed out loud!
Is this for real? Is a toddler/small child really going to find this thing FUN? What happened to just good old

It is time for another installment of "One Fit Mommy"! Each week I scour the blogosphere to find other fit moms who inspire me to fitness.
Our mommy this week is Roni, who blogs over at Roni's Weigh, GreenLiteBites, and Blog2Lose. I met her in person and not only does she have amazing energy and enthusiasm, but her positive attitude is contagious.
Her story is fantastic, she tipped the scales at more than 200 pounds several years ago and admits to trying every weight loss fad out there. Her turnaround came after the birth of her son; she didn't just want to be a skinny mom, she wanted to be a healthy mom.
Roni managed to lose over 70 pounds and despite a very busy blogging schedule, she

With so many sales going on, many of my clients are overwhelmed by the bargins and not sure what to buy.
Here's my advice:
Take inventory of what you have. What is missing and what needs to be replaced? Are you also looking for holiday gifts? Make a shopping list and a budget. Take a look online and check out who has what and for how much. Print out coupons. Then put on a comfy pair of shoes and start shopping. Dont be tempted by low prices-ONLY BUY WHAT YOU LOVE. Then email me your fav purchases and I will post them on my blog!

So my son, age 2, has a SERIOUS Oedipus complex. According to Wikipedia (that font of all knowledge ;) ) this is supposed to peak between ages 3-5. If Daddy so dares to hug me or God forbid kiss me in front of Big Man, all heck breaks lose. He will start yelling "No Daddy!" "MY MOMMY" over and over and over. Even if we are in the car in the front seat and Big Man sees DH lean over and hold my hand - he goes crazy. I think it is cute and funny. DH - not so much. If we aren't even at the peak yet, this is going to be a long pahse. Anyone else had this? Any suggestions on how to deal with it?

Here is a fun way to get more veggies in your kids, get them a Healthy Habits plate from
Super Healthy Kids! This plate teaches kids that half their plate should be full of fruits and vegetables, 1/4 of their plate should be filled with protein, and 1/4 of the plate with grains.
Not only is it educational for your kids, but it is fun too! My son is just starting to pick up on the concept of filling his plate with healthy foods (and I think my husband might get it soon as well!)
So for all the kids (or husbands/wives) in your life that need a little direction when it comes to healthy eating, get them this plate!

It is time for another installment of "One Fit Mommy"! Each week I scour the blogosphere to find other fit moms who inspire me to fitness.
Our mommy this week is Leah, who created the fantastic fitness community for moms over at BookieBoo. Leah is a busy mom with one toddler boy and another bundle due this winter. She is a weight loss success story; a few years ago Leah lost over 100 lbs through fitness and diet and has kept it off!
She continues to exercise throughout her pregnancy and she admits that she is now a fitness "junkie"!
Please read on for more about Leah and why she is definitely "One Fit Mommy"!
Q: Have you always been fit? What inspired you to live a fit lifestyle?
