Oh gorgeous days! They won't last forever (or even a few weeks) so now is the time to take advantage of the relatively cool 80-something-degree days to declutter and organize your garage. Think about it -- is that where you want to be when the thermometer hits 95 degrees or so?!
It's actually pretty easy to make a big difference in a garage in a relatively short amount of time. It tends to be a catch-all for all manner of big, bulky stuff that we're not sure we really want or need anyway. Seasonal items also often end up in the garage as well as just plain, old trash!
First things first. Take a really hard look at the current contents of your garage. Using my favorite organizing method from

Ok...is it me or is everyone overacting just a bit about Jon & Kate? While I am not a loyal watcher of the show, Jon & Kate Plus Eight, I see enough episodes every season to keep up with the kids, the trips, the moves and the pending divorce. I think it is interesting that the media has pounced on this story like a cat on a mouse. Seriously, NOW everyone is concerned for the well fair of the children. Even richer are statements surfacing that Jon wants out. I guess the spotlight can take the lust away of from an extramarital affair in a hurry. Funny...I didn't hear him complaining when he was getting a free hair transplant done.
At the end of the day, I guess I side with Kate. Yes she

Or rather, have you remembered it is your Mother-In-Law’s Birthday while standing in her kitchen? I have… just the other day.
My Mother-In-Law’s birthday falls on Mother’s Day or just around Mother’s Day every year. This year we went to the beach for Mother’s Day weekend, so we weren’t around. And everyone was fine with that…
I even got my Mother-In-Law a birthday/mother’s day present, which I’m not supposed to do- because my husband takes her out to a very nice restaurant every year for her birthday/Mother’s Day. It’s a nice tradition and they both enjoy it! He is taking her to dinner this week.
So, I tell her I got her a present and that My son and I are bringing it over… I took a

One of the many random things in my overloaded mommy brain is the precise location - at all times - of Giggles' Item of the Week. Does your kid have one (or more) of those? It's like each week she latches on to a new (or old) toy, accessory, bizarre trinket and must have it in her sight no matter where she is. Sometimes it's a plastic Hello Kitty watch from a McDonald's Happy Meal of times gone by. Or it could be a particular princess wand. Her purse is a recurring Item of the Week. It's a Dora the Explorer pink vinyl thing filled to the brim with assorted junk, ahem, personal items. Let's take an inventory, shall we?

- Her "cell phone" (note the QWERTY keypad for easy text messaging)
- Her

I just happened upon a great find for DC Area Moms…
it’s called Thyme Out!
I showed up (unannounced as a mom-blogger), I simply went in as a mom, on the recommendation of a fellow preschool mommy.
Thyme Out has prepared dinners, lunches, sides, a freshly-made-and-frozen section and the list goes on!
Before I go into how good this food is and how many options they have to choose from…
Let me just tell you-
This is a ‘Mom Business’ !!!!!
Missy Carr is a mom of 3 kids, ages 4-7 and a chef! She created Thyme Out in 2006 to help families eat better, healthier food without the stress of dinner preparation.
Check out the Thyme Out Website because it is very easy to get around and tells you

I'm in love! I can't help it. I have a real problem when it comes to design. I subscribe to every home magazine that exists. I watch HGTV and Fine Living religiously. I have hours of home shows on my TIVO. I pour through them when everyone is asleep....as no one in my house wants to see another home show.
I obsess over lamps, art, window treatments, landscaping and more! I just can't help myself. Because of my joy for all things design, I live for the opportunity to make subtle upgrades to my home...WEEKLY! My husband has reminded me on more than a few occasions that "We are in a recession". I told him I am helping to support the economy. I get a gruff look and then a smile in

We spent Mother's Day weekend at Bethany Beach. It was quiet and peaceful and wonderful. You know how crowded Bethany Beach gets? Look at these shots-
To the North-
And to the South-
These were taken Friday afternoon. Saturday turned out to be beautiful, so there were a few more people on the beach- but that's it
We played on the beach, went out to dinner, visited FunLand in Rehoboth on Saturday afternoon (opening day- it's open for the season now), played some more and had a great time.
We ‘cut a swath' through the outlets on the way home on Sunday too!
If you've read below, you know that my son woke up bright and early on Monday morning with Strep Throat, but he's been on

To fully celebrate Mother's Day I insisted on taking in every minute of the beautiful weather last Sunday. Part of that included an al fresco brunch. I went back to one of my favorite spots in Clarendon and it didn't disappoint. The Eggs Benedict were beyond tasty. My daughter loved the Strawberry Parfait, granola and all. The Mimosas weren't bad either. Yum!
We followed our Arlington lunch with a trip to Gravelly Point, just off the GW Parkway, to see the planes take off from National Airport. Bring a blanket, a ball and a camera and you have an afternoon of fun. For those who haven't been to Gravelly Point, the view of the Potomac is amazing and the family vibe was a perfect
