I was recently given a few samples of the organic product Ella's Kitchen. The box arrived right around the same time as a playdate. My neighbor immediately seemed to know what the product was all about. Hmmm...why didn't I get the memo sooner? My neighbor was fortunate enough to spend two glorious weeks in France last year. She noted that a similar product was all the rage in France and her kids just loved it! With that...we pulled them out offered them to the kids. Success!
The "Ella's Kitchen" Smoothie Fruit pouches were a big hit with the kids. The "Ella's Kitchen" Stage 1 went over well with a friend's infant. The product is great for an on-the-go lifestyle. These are

Giada is one of my favorites on Food Network. Her personable style, inspiring Italian feasts and her adorable smile make her just plain fun to watch. When I heard that Giada was collaborating with Target for an exclusive line of affordable cookware products and specialty food items I was quite excited. Well it is finally here! I think I want everything from her stock pot to her ceramic bakeware set. Giada’s Target gadgets and tools could dress up any kitchen. So cute! Who knew you could yearn for a colander and steel pasta server.
Prices range from $6.99 for a nylon spoon with stainless-steel handle, to $199.99 for a 10-piece Tri Ply Clad cookset that includes an 8” and 9.5”

As some of you may know, I am a huge fan of Company's Coming. This is truly the most unique cooking class that I have ever experienced. This awesome cooking class blends food, wine and fun all into a delightful evening. The setting is a 1913 home in Cleveland Park. Classes are taught by Ed and Jinny, a spirited couple who have been sharing their culinary skills with the DC Metro area for years. Instruction is light and is set to music with a small group of folks. Your efforts are rewarded. The evening ends with either an outdoor meal on their beautiful patio or inside in a cozy dining room.
On my recent trip, we made and enjoyed "Italian Treats for a Saturday Feast". The evening

I just happened upon a great find for DC Area Moms…
it’s called Thyme Out!
I showed up (unannounced as a mom-blogger), I simply went in as a mom, on the recommendation of a fellow preschool mommy.
Thyme Out has prepared dinners, lunches, sides, a freshly-made-and-frozen section and the list goes on!
Before I go into how good this food is and how many options they have to choose from…
Let me just tell you-
This is a ‘Mom Business’ !!!!!
Missy Carr is a mom of 3 kids, ages 4-7 and a chef! She created Thyme Out in 2006 to help families eat better, healthier food without the stress of dinner preparation.
Check out the Thyme Out Website because it is very easy to get around and tells you

To fully celebrate Mother's Day I insisted on taking in every minute of the beautiful weather last Sunday. Part of that included an al fresco brunch. I went back to one of my favorite spots in Clarendon and it didn't disappoint. The Eggs Benedict were beyond tasty. My daughter loved the Strawberry Parfait, granola and all. The Mimosas weren't bad either. Yum!
We followed our Arlington lunch with a trip to Gravelly Point, just off the GW Parkway, to see the planes take off from National Airport. Bring a blanket, a ball and a camera and you have an afternoon of fun. For those who haven't been to Gravelly Point, the view of the Potomac is amazing and the family vibe was a perfect

I've always meant to try the chili at the Washington Landmark-
Ben's Chili Bowl, because I'm a bit of a chili connoisseur...
if there is such a thing.
So, this week being our ‘Spring Break', my son and I headed down to U street and the famous chili place-
to see how it measured up.
It's right across from a Metro station and has a small parking lot in back (10 spaces- this is new), just turn into the alley on the left side of Ben's Chili Bowl and you'll see the parking lot!
So the review= THIS IS GOOD CHILI! It's basically Cincinnati chili, which is my favorite, since my parents are both from Cincinnati. Cincinnati chili is the only kind I make.
For those who are not familiar with

Ok so every year, I look forward to getting the 12 Days of Christmas Cookie newsletter from Food Network.
Here's a teaser from today's newsletter. Alton Brown's Paradise Macaroons. They look seriously yummy with all that coconut, chocolate and toasted macadamia nuts.
Click here to access the recipe. Yum!
