So yesterday we all went to Delaware for the day since Hubby had a meeting to attend. Things were going swimmingly with me toting all three kids around a new city: we went to the Zoo; made bead necklaces in the park; ate lunch; checked out a toy store, and then...on the way out of the Mall, Giggles slipped and fell and chipped.her.tooth!!!!
Of course she also cut her bottom lip a bit so she was beside herself crying and I was so shaken up when I realized that a piece of her tooth was missing. Anyway, I immediately called the pediatrician who said to call the dentist who said to come in first thing this morning. Giggles was fine after a few minutes, and we left to pick up Hubby from his

As I have said before, I love a good sale and I've made a decision about my wardrobe. Let go of the sentimental attachment and only wear things that make me feel and look fabulous -- like a hip mama without the curse of "mommy jeans".
That being said, one of my favorite haunts for great basics is Harold's. I discovered them while I was in Dallas and was pleasantly surprised to find one at Tyson's II.
Right now, is their pre-season sale. You can find great pieces at up to $75 off -- now that's a good deal.

So my lovely daycare sent Big Man home with "pink eye" yesterday. And he couldn't come back without a doctor's note. I was sure he didn't have pink eye and when we saw him - with bright white (albeit gunky) eyes - I knew he didn't have pink eye. You see, they call it "pink eye" because when you have it there is discharge and your eyes are PINK. His were not at all.
Instead, like his sister before him, Big Man's nasal passages and tear ducts are closely related. So along with a runny nose, he sometimes gets runny gross eyes. His sister did it too. What he does have is a cold. And, as it turns out after a dr's visit, a double ear infection. Poor thing. He has been in a great mood - so hard to

Even though my daughter is only 2 years old, it appears that her mates are already adopting DIVA taste in shoes. In all fairness our neighbor who turned me onto Lelli Kelly shoes has a very posh 4.5 year old. Who knew preschoolers were so tied into to fashion? I am suddenly realizing the virtues of a Catholic School education that comes complete with a uniform. If the need to be stylish starts at the age of 4...I am going to have to take out a home equity loan to dress my daughter throughout grade school and high school.
Idle gripes about the cost of fashion aside, Lelli Kelley are absolutely adorable shoes that come the most vibrant collection of colors and designs. It is easy to see

What would you teach your children if you knew it was your last day with them?
I know it's a tough and morbid thought today, but I'm challenged with this concept after I read a great article in Parade Magazine on Sunday about the Last Lecture of Professor Randy Pausch . He is a husband and father of 3, and he is dying of cancer.
Hopefully we will never get to this point. But, it's possible, and who knows if we will be lucky enough to have a warning. It made me seriously think about what my job as a mother really is all about. Do I want to mold my daughter into a a dream I have for her? No. I have to figure out how to empower her to be herself and achieve her own dreams and desires.

Ok, I have to tell y'all about the cutest online gift boutique: Ginger Snaps Baby. What's unique about this boutique is that its products are inspired by children of color, which is so great, because chic baby items made especially for brown babies are rare! No matter what the color of your bambino though, you are sure to find something precious at Ginger Snaps Baby. The owner, Michele Duger, was gracious enough to send me some samples of her products, and they.are.adorable! Really. I'm in love with the Bag ID tags personalized with my girls' names. They are just darling. And, I'm a sucker for stationery, so I was tickled pink to receive some personalized notecards in a pretty and stylish

So for the last 3 weeks I have been on this crazy diet. It is called Cracking the Fat Loss Code. It is a plan that is supposed to train your body to use your fat loss stores for energy and not just what you are eating. For the first week you have to totally carb/sugar deplete. It is not easy, but its just a week, so bearable. After that, you rotate carb up and down days. In three weeks I have lost about 15 lbs. Not bad. Not sure about the science of the diet - but these days I need the discipline. I am a carb-lover (pasta/bread/etc)..so this isn't easy for me. But it is working - maybe not from the science, but just cutting out a LOT of calories/fat.
I have also been upping my exercise. I am

So I am in process of planning two big vacations. What I cannot do without is a notebook. I have three dedicated notebooks for my trips - where I write down, and tape in, anything to do with the trip.
1) My trip to Paris. This is next week and I cannot wait. I am going with 6 of my girlfriends. Of the 7 of us, 4 turn 40 this year - so we are celebrating. A whole week in an apartment in the City of Lights - without kids or husbands. I am sooo excited. For this trip I have all information in a pretty travel journal with tabs. I have sections for shopping, eating, sightseeing, logistics and other. I have either written down information or cut and pasted information in. I plan to bring this with

Having a newborn in the house has been hectic...fun...but hectic! (Did you catch that Mommy Guilt Reflex?) And so naturally, blogging fell by the wayside. But, things are finally settling down and I'm back on the block. Or blog, as it were. And I have so many things to post about.
First things first - here are some recent photos of my bambino. He's so cute and cuddly, if not a little lacking in the sleeping department (at night anyway).
The other question I get asked the most (after "how's the BABY?!") is "how are the girls adjusting to their new baby brother?" Up until this week I was answering "fine!" or "great!" or "they just adore him!" But for some reason, this week all that changed...I

So did I tell you I'm in a Rock Band?
Seriously, I'm learning to play the drums. And that's kind of difficult given I have a 7 month pregnant belly that sticks out.
Greg plays the guitar.
At night after Emily goes to sleep we practice in the basement and play gigs around the country.
We got "RockBand" ...the video game.
At night, we transform from geeky computer guy and pregnant stay at home mom to rockers who wear leather pants...in the game. IT'S DONE WONDERS FOR THE FUN IN OUR MARRIAGE.
It's not like we're going to go out and see rock bands at night with a 2 year old and another one on the way...but we can actually be the band in our basement. It takes us into another world...far away

I am spending this week teaching at my childrens' Vacation Bible School. Today the craft was a prayer pot where the kids decorated the pot and filled it with popcicle sticks labeled with names of people to pray for. I asked one of the 7-year-olds in my class about his sticks, and he told me: Mom, Pop, God, and Angel. He explained that Angel was his baby cousin who died at birth, and that his aunt named her Angel because she was in heaven.
I was so touched that this little guy and his prayer for his cousin, it stuck in my head for the rest of the day. He was so little to grasp such a situation, and clearly it stuck in his mind and affected him. It made me think of the work that my fellow

So our kids are spoiled. They had never been to a baseball game that wasn't played in a professional stadium. Well, Saturday night we joined some friends at a summer college league game. It was in a beautiful brick baseball park, but still our girls were like, "where is the stadium?" It was kind of sad, really. But we all ended up having a great time. The food prices were actually survivable ($1.50 for popcorn vs $6.50 or so at the big park)! And we were sitting about 15 feet behind home plate (as opposed to our season tickets in the nose-bleeds!).
The best part though was that the girls were picked to announce the start of the game. Someone came through and asked one of our little friends,
