TEN GREAT GIFTS FOR FATHER'S DAY
Buying for Father's Day can be tough. I have put together some great ideas for dad.
1. Team Gear- What guy doesn't love a shirt or hat from his favorite team. The mall is typically crawling with shops that carry the big name pro and college teams gear.
2. Electronics - Men love gadgets. On the high end you could get him an iPod, GPS device or a camera. On the more economic side, try a device charger or iPod holder. I love the floating waterproof iPod dock from Atlantic Inc.com or an oversized universal remote. These gizmos are typically found in Target, Best Buy or Bed, Bath & Beyond.
3. Spa - Yes even real men are allowed to get some TLC from time to time. A

Whatever you feelings on the war, I think we all can agree "War Is Hell". Clearly it takes its toll on the soldiers that have to experience it first hand, but it also has countless stateside causalities. Families often pay an incredible price for their loved one's service to our country. Wives, husbands, kids, moms, dads and siblings are all impacted by the separation.
It looks as though the message is finally getting out to the folks that court our kids. Sesame Workshop has just created a DVD collection, featuring Elmo, that discusses the implications of war to children. Sesame Workshop created this bilingual (English and Spanish) outreach program for military families impacted by

It's not the boys on the football team you want to pay attention to...
it's the boys that sit next to you in Calculus." -Dave Synder, my stepfather
That's one of my favorite nuggets of advice from my step-dad, Dave. His point was not to put down jocks, but to illustrate how there's more to looking for a mate than finding the hip cool guy that's good at sports and popular. In his way, he taught me that it's important to find a man that can care for you and provide for you. So what if he runs with the cool group and wears cool jeans? He also thought that the guys in Calculus had better income earning potential! He makes a good point.
This weekend, I have been gushing love for my

As many of us know April is Autism Awareness Month. As April draws to a close I wanted to take an opportunity to again highlight a special story that is currently posted in the site's Mommy Matters section. This special story was written and shared by my sister-in-law. I hope you find it as moving and as inspirational as I do.
Joseph Stanley Kurp was born on November 19, 1991; he was named after two great men in this world, his Father and his Grandfather. Second in line to his sister Stephanie, just 12 months his senior. Joe is currently 16 years old and a sophomore at our local PUBLIC school; I emphasize PUBLIC because like all children afflicted with Autism, we were facing huge

Despite me being beyond exhausted from the pregnancy, yesterday was a good day.
First, I came home from work to find our cherry blossom trees in full bloom. I love them. They make me happy.
Aren't they making you happy too?
Then last night, at approximately 9:19pm, we became the eBay auction winners of the stroller that we wanted! Yahoo! We saved almost 50% off of the retail price. Gotta love the Internet. It was my first time actually participating in an auction on eBay -- I usually just use the "Buy It Now" feature. The even better news is that we lost an auction over the weekend for the same stroller from another seller and so I was bummed. But we got an even better deal last night than we
