
Celebrate the 29th Annual Alexandria Saint Patrick's Day Parade hosted by the Ballyshaners and the City of Alexandria.
The day's festivities begin with the Classic Car Show Competition. The show starts at 10:00 a.m. with automobiles on display on North Pitt Street just off of King Street. Mr. Vern Parker, noted Washington Times columnist and expert in the classic car field will judge the competition and award the "Frank Cherry Trophy."
The Fun Dog Show begins at 10:30 a.m. in Market Square (corner of North Royal and King Streets) and goes until 12:00.
The Parade begins at King and West Streets at 12:30 p.m. and follows a route down King Street, past the reviewing stand at North Royal Street,

In an effort to increase awareness and raise funds to support the fight against stillbirth, Allan's Trees (ATO) is sponsoring a fundraising event for greater DC Metro residents and their families. The ATO Holiday Art and Craft Sale and Raffle will take place at 1204 Prospect Street, Takoma Park MD, on Saturday, December 12th, 2009 from 11:00 to 4:00. All raffle proceeds and a portion of all sales will be donated to First Candle in support of stillbirth research and prevention in honor of Allan Frederick Lerner.

On Saturday, October 24 Sister Cities International will host its first 5K run/walk and World Cultures Festival from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in DC's Foggy Bottom neighborhood. While the 5K does have an entry fee, the Festival is open to anyone and everyone who would like to attend. Participants will enjoy food, music, and performances from around the globe. Their will be free children's activities such as face-painting and games.
All proceeds raised from the event will go to support Sister Cities International's Youth Programs.

So what is it about The Great Zucchini that makes him the #1 children's performer in the DC Metro area? In search of answers I sat down with "The Great One" (my new name for him). Amtrak will be celebrating America's love for rail travel at the 2nd Annual National Train Day event in DC on May 9 from 10 am to 3 pm (EST). This is a great event for the whole family and the best part is that it's free!
This year, American Idol Judge, Randy Jackson will be at Union Station to help celebrate 140 years of train travel throughout the country!
