The fine folks at Burger King sent me their new Fresh Apple Fries (and a fly lunchbag!) to try out and I must say, they were a hit with Chatterbox and Giggles. The "fries" (fresh apples cut into fry shapes) were fresh, crunchy and sweet - so much so, that the girls didn't even bother with the low-fat caramel dipping sauce that came with them. I did try the sauce though and it was quite yummy.
It's about time that moms were offered an alternative to boring, fatty french fries for their kids' meals. In fact, it's gotten so that Chatterbox doesn't even eat the french fries anymore. Of course, a lot of the popular fast food restaurants do offer some substitutions, but I think these BK Fresh

This is one of my favorite products for the summer. The boat tote from LL Bean is a great bag for trips to the pool, beach, park or any family outing. It fits lots of towels, beach gear, toys, etc. Truth be told...I also use it as my daughter's suitcase for holiday and vacation travel. I can pile in diapers, wipes, clothes, baby lotion and it all seems to fit nicely. I can also bring it on a plane as a carry on. It also fit into whatever crevice of the car it is squeezed into on long trips. It is easy to clean. For stains I typically wash it the gentle cycle. Final note, this is an AWESOME gift to give to someone who has hosted you for a summer weekend. I have the LL Bean credit card for

I first saw the Purseket purse organizer when I was rifling through a home magazine. This handy product allows you to put your purse essentials into one mobile product. It has room for tons of stuff and even has one compartment with Velcro for phones, credit cards, etc. The beauty of this product is that you can quickly remove it and switch the contents to a diaper bag, pool tote, gym bag, backpack, et al. As a chameleon that heads to the park, gym and grocery store all in the same day, it is a life saver. The Purseket is a cool organizer that comes in array of colors and sizes. While I thought I was way cool for getting out ahead of the pack on this one...I was mistaken. I found the last

Children are a life altering event. Any way you slice it life changes dramatically after a little one arrives. My first order of business was to reevaluate my spending. After all I had a host of new expenses to think about such as life insurance, 529 accounts, trips to Janie & Jack and memberships to The Little Gym.
As a consquence I swore off many of my staple makeup items. Well...I am here to report after 3 years...I have decided every mother needs a few luxury items in her medicine cabinet. I have returned to some of my favorite products and I was amazed at how much I missed them!
Here are two.... Oh...before I get started, if you have any favorites either comment on this blog

My first official reporter job...at AM 1230 WJBC in 1999.

I've always loved the news. Everything about it. The newspaper in the morning with a cup of coffee, national tv anchors and their hair, hourly radio updates from ABC News. I thought I would eventually end up as one of them.
There was even a time in my life (when I worked in news radio) that I set the clock in my car to hit :00 (the top of the hour in the biz) as soon as I heard the ABC News sounder signaling the hourly news update. I know, it's pretty extreme.
Oh how my life has changed since becoming a stay at home mom. Last night, it hit me as I sat in my comfy maternity mumu on my couch, ready for a riveting Saturday night. I struck

If asked the question "What are your favorite products?", what would your response be? I have a few that I love and must have at all times. Dermalogica is a must for me. After many facials, I discovered how wonderful Dermalogica products are for my face. This European company is often used by spas and salons, although they have become very mainstream. You can even find their products in the specialty section of Wegman's. Still, most retail establishments charge a pretty penny for these items. If you like what you see, I recommend What Great Skin. They have great rates and free shipping.
First up, Daily Mircrofoliant for daily cleansing. Rice powder formula that lightly cleanses and

I had promised myself that I would not blog on my website. I was going to leave it to the professionals, more capable women than myself that could provide you with loads of informative and funny information about life, parenthood, local happenings, etc. Unfortunately, I find that I have tons of products and places that I am forced to nestle into the 2,000+ entries that I have on DC Metro Mommy. In an effort to highlight some of my faves in a more timely fashion, I am going to start to throw some "Shout Outs" to special products and events. I will try to refrain from any rants about parenthood and politics. I have a big mouth with lots of opinions, so I will try to keep it light. Hope
