This weekend has left me wanting to run away. Away from all the drama, stress, arguments, and screaming. I know that isn't an option though because no matter how far you run, it all just comes with you.
So instead I look longingly at my Saucony's and dream of the time when I can lace them up and run "away" with them.
I miss the runner's high and the way that life just seems a lot less complicated when I am out running.
I miss the thrill of the long run.
The sweat on my neck.
The smell of fresh air and the sound of my feet gently pounding the pavement.
The thrill of accomplishment when my run is finished. I always end a run feeling rejuvenated, strong, and happy. Someday it will be my turn

It is time for another installment of "One Fit Mommy"! Each week I scour the blogosphere to find other fit moms who inspire me to fitness.
Our mommy this week is Leah, who created the fantastic fitness community for moms over at BookieBoo. Leah is a busy mom with one toddler boy and another bundle due this winter. She is a weight loss success story; a few years ago Leah lost over 100 lbs through fitness and diet and has kept it off!
She continues to exercise throughout her pregnancy and she admits that she is now a fitness "junkie"!
Please read on for more about Leah and why she is definitely "One Fit Mommy"!
Q: Have you always been fit? What inspired you to live a fit lifestyle?
No, I didn't

This last pregnancy really did a number on me. The first time? Cake. No aches or pains. I breezed through 9 months with virtually no complaints. Then the second time it was a teensy bit rough towards the end, mainly because of my pelvis issue. This time? Man, I feel like I was run over by a truck. I'm 9 weeks postpartum and everything hurts! I've even been going to physical therapy sessions. The worst part of it all is that I can't get started on my weight-loss program because it hurts to do anything more than walk -- and I can't even do that for long periods of time.
Today I tried a yoga class. It was called "Yoga for a Healthy Lower Back." The class was good, but it was pretty much me and

Ok seriously. I'm so pregnant right now it's not funny. I'm gi-mongous, hot, heavy, achy, exhausted, and cranky. I think it's about that time! Plus my belly is so tight right now that it's uncomfortable. And don't get me started on the Braxton-Hicks.
So it could be any day now! I just need the little guy to give me the weekend so that we can wash his clothes; pick up and assemble the furniture; and pack my hospital bag.
Oh and, it would be nice if I could get my hair and toes done. Call me vain if you want to, but it's before the baby comes or not for another 2 months!
Oh and I need gifts "from the baby" for Chatterbox and Giggles. I heard that goes over big time.
Alright baby, give Mommy until

They say, every pregnancy is different.
With my first pregnancy I could only eat plain foods. Grilled Cheese, Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwhiches, and Cheese Quesadillas.
With my second pregnancy I can't get enough TABASCO! I put it on everything. I've never eaten it before!
But now, I eat it with my eggs for breakfast, on my taco for lunch, and even on pizza. I must have TABASCO. Everything tastes so plain without it.
And, it has to be Chipotle flavored TABASCO. It just hits the spot.
Is it the difference between a boy and a girl? Crazy...

Today is the day! We have our 20 week ultrasound this morning and will find out if our baby is a boy or a girl! It feels so big to me! Just as exciting as finding out you are expecting...almost as big as "labor day". Expert mom opinions have predicted a girl...oh a sister for Emily how precious. She will have the blessing that I have had in my sister, Meaghan.
My mind still wanders at the thought of a boy...who will take care of his momma. Hmm... I will update with the answer today!
Your predictions?

IT'S A BOY!
My hunch was right! We are thrilled to announce that we are having a son! He is perfect. The doctor says there are no problems, he is healthy and strong!
We're thinking of naming him "Andrew" and calling him "Andy"...still working on middle names!
Thank you Father! You truly spoil your children. Emily will be enthralled with her baby brother, Andy!
His Daddy will make sure he has every video game known to man, and his Mommy will give him a tender heart and raise him to become a good husband and father! Is it too much to ask for a football star too?!
I have thought it was a boy all along...and been nervous about it. Thinking, "I don't know what to do with a boy...how do you

Scene:
This morning in the elevator on the way to my office floor, Starbucks cup in hand.
Heard:
Woman: "What are you doing drinking coffee?" Flashes fake smile.
Me: "Actually it's not coffee - it's decaf tea." Flashes fake smile.
Woman: "Actually, tea is just as bad as coffee." Flashes fake smile.
Me: "Not if it's decaffeinated." Flashes fake smile. [Thinking: Why are you all up in my cup??]
Woman: "Good luck with your pregnancy, dear!" Flashes fake smile and waves.
Maybe I need to start looking mean. Apparently my demeanor gives people the idea that I'm approachable and they can just tell me whatever they want!

Capitol Moms founder, Teia Collier, and Julie Belgard of Greater Washington Therapy are teaming up to edit a book of bump to baby stories. We need the whole range of stories from the warm, funny to the touching and dramatic to create a balanced book. Here's our letter to moms.
Dear Moms,
Every mom has a baby story--from finding out they are pregnant to the actual birth and beyond. These are wonderful, bonding stories, both funny and dramatic, and we realized that there are very few formats in which to share them.
We are working on editing a book of bump to baby stories--particularly how you found out you were pregnant, how you told your partner/family/friends/boss.... and then what came next,

One of my bestest friends had her third baby last week. Her first two came quickly - but this one set a land/speed record. She actually had the baby in the waiting room of the hospital.....WHILE SHE WAS STILL WEARING HER PANTS!!!! I know..isn't that crazy? They were checking her into the hospital and she was telling them that she was pushing. The hospital staff were making her husband sign some forms, until he looked over and could see the baby in the leg of my friends sweat pants. So insane! Both she and the baby are fine now.
Now, believe it or not, this may not be the weirdest birth story amongst my friends. Another one was it the hospital, after having been induced and needed to go to

Capitol Moms founder, Teia Collier, spent a few minutes chatting with the inspiring and highly-motivated, mama of 4(soon to be 5) Debbie Jacobson, producer of Retirement Living's new lifestyle reality show, What's Next?. With our parents getting older and heading toward this new stage in life and already rolling around in it, I found this interview particularly interesting.
Here are a few highlights:
Tell me about What's Next?
It is inspired and started with my dad. He thought he had it all figured out, a plan laid out and then he abruptly got there. And it was all different. It was like someone changed the rules and he was left answering the question, "How do you spend then rest of your

Recently Capitol Moms stumbled upon a really special company out of Portland, Sasha B Designs. Makers of sweet nursing covers and dreamy soft blankets, Sasha B Designs has found a home here at Capitol Moms.
We tried out the Sage Curly Nursing Cover and the Mint Chocolate Chip Baby Blanket. First thing out of the box, we fell in love with the beautiful presentation, then when we opened the bag out fell two beautiful products. The snap style, curly nursing cover was swiped by my two year old with an "oooh Mommmy" to be claimed as a snuggly. I knew it was a winner when a second reviewer friend commented on its silky, creamy texture as well.
In a variety of colors and in your choice of minky or

Should husbands of pregnant stay-at-home mom's play golf on a Saturday instead of attending the planned family outing of a parade?
Just asking...
I'm starting to loose it today after a week full of laundry, cooking, cleaning, doctor appointments, potty training, and even mowing the lawn myself. Where is my 4 hours of fun away from home? The only thing is...I would have no idea what to do with all that time!
I'm starting to understand why that one chick in the 80's shaved her head and screamed STOP THE INSANITY! HAHAHA
UPDATE: I have scheduled a spa day for Saturday afternoon! Facial and stress relief body scrub...ahhhhh. Okay, I'm not a bitter woman anymore.
