It is now time for my not-so-little one to graduate onto a booster seat. Because of the research I have done, as well as a heartbreaking blog I did last year (LINK), I decided to go with a Britax 5 point restraint booster seat. Of course the prices are always sky high!
Well...I was pleasantly surprised to see that the Britax Frontier is now on sale for $229.99 (regularly $279.99). I have been told this is a temporary price reduction. Bonus, I used a coupon at buybuy Baby and bought the item for $184.00 + tax.
If you don't have a current coupon for buybuy Baby, you can use a Bed, Bath & Beyond 20% coupon. Note, the coupon must NOT be expired and be sure to read the fine print at

A few months back I did a post about the Bisphenol A (BPA) in water bottles and the potential for side effects. BPA is an estrogen-like chemical that can leach into your drink. It may be linked to health problems, including breast cancer and early puberty. Canada is considering banning the use of it altogether.
My own water bottles were not the only issue though. I realized that most of my kid's sippy cups also contain BPA! Why on earth do they manufacture children's cups with toxic chemicals?!
Thankfully, I was able to find the Safe Sippy Cup. It is a non-leaching stainless steel cup with a hard plastic, angled spout, removable plastic handles, and a cool rubber-like plastic sheath.

Under the category of "Too Cute", I introduce to you Handmade Creatures by Angela Lee. I stumbled onto this website while surfing the net. Wow...these little critters are adorable! Plus unlike mass produced soft animals and toys these one of a kind creatures are made with love and pure artist creativity. You don't find that everyday!
Each of Angela Lee's Handmade Creatures is designed to customer specifications. Angela, a graphic designer, reports that she loves inventing these little characters and bringing them to life. Selling her mini size masterpieces is just an excuse for her to make more. One of Angela's greatest joys is seeing their new parents fall in love with them.

I've found it! The cure to "Mommy Brain." Well, maybe not the cure, but a definite way to help.
Jooners, an online organizational tool, was founded by a mother of two who wanted to help moms stay on top of all of the scheduling and coordination that comes with having kids. How does it work? The website offers a host of ready-made "people planners" for anything from Carpool to Snack Duty to Organizing Volunteers. If you're like me and often on the coordinating end of these types of tasks, Jooners will be a lifesaver. All you need to do is click on the planner you want to use, fill in any missing details if necessary, and send it to your list of contacts with a personal note. Jooners will even

Let me tell you about a fabulous product created by local Rockville mamas that I love for my Zenora, The Kids Busy Box - Deluxe Edition. It is a craft box with instructions and everything (and I mean everything) that your little artist needs to be able to create fun stuff.
The first thing we made was the little royalty crown. It occupied my daughter for 45 minutes as she put little stars on a crown and watched the glue dry. It was crazy easy and a very precious gift to a busy mama -- time. We laughed, took pics and watched her talk about colors and shapes while building another great memory.
I recommend that every house have at least one of these kits; it's a lifesafer and a great present

We were so lucky to get Leapfrog's TAG Touch Learning System to try out! Chatterbox is just starting to get into electronic toys so the timing was perfect. The TAG is actually a "pen" that a child can run over the words of a book with and have the story read to them. It's a great idea that encourages kids to learn to read. The TAG System comes with a storybook and there is a whole library of additional stories that you can purchase that work with the system. In addition to that, the system connects to the Leapfrog Learning Path that connects the TAG reader to your computer and allows you to track your child's learning progress.
The manufacturer's recommended age for the TAG System is 4 - 8

Saw this tonight while surfing around for some baby gear at BabiesRUs.com. I was looking for a backpack/sling to carry enough stuff for 2 kids instead of just one, and I stumbled upon this new product. The Daddy Diaper Vest! Here's what the website said about it:
"DadGear introduces the Diaper Vest. This wearable diaper bag is the hottest innovation in parenting gear since the diaper bag itself. Our revolutionary twist on the traditional diaper bag sets the standard for our "hands free" line. Combining comfort and style, you can change, feed, and entertain your child with ease and no one will be able to tell you are wearing your diaper bag. We have strategically placed pockets for all of

The fine folks at Burger King sent me their new Fresh Apple Fries (and a fly lunchbag!) to try out and I must say, they were a hit with Chatterbox and Giggles. The "fries" (fresh apples cut into fry shapes) were fresh, crunchy and sweet - so much so, that the girls didn't even bother with the low-fat caramel dipping sauce that came with them. I did try the sauce though and it was quite yummy.
It's about time that moms were offered an alternative to boring, fatty french fries for their kids' meals. In fact, it's gotten so that Chatterbox doesn't even eat the french fries anymore. Of course, a lot of the popular fast food restaurants do offer some substitutions, but I think these BK Fresh

As I have said before, I love a good sale and I've made a decision about my wardrobe. Let go of the sentimental attachment and only wear things that make me feel and look fabulous -- like a hip mama without the curse of "mommy jeans".
That being said, one of my favorite haunts for great basics is Harold's. I discovered them while I was in Dallas and was pleasantly surprised to find one at Tyson's II.
Right now, is their pre-season sale. You can find great pieces at up to $75 off -- now that's a good deal.

Even though my daughter is only 2 years old, it appears that her mates are already adopting DIVA taste in shoes. In all fairness our neighbor who turned me onto Lelli Kelly shoes has a very posh 4.5 year old. Who knew preschoolers were so tied into to fashion? I am suddenly realizing the virtues of a Catholic School education that comes complete with a uniform. If the need to be stylish starts at the age of 4...I am going to have to take out a home equity loan to dress my daughter throughout grade school and high school.
Idle gripes about the cost of fashion aside, Lelli Kelley are absolutely adorable shoes that come the most vibrant collection of colors and designs. It is easy to see

Ok, I have to tell y'all about the cutest online gift boutique: Ginger Snaps Baby. What's unique about this boutique is that its products are inspired by children of color, which is so great, because chic baby items made especially for brown babies are rare! No matter what the color of your bambino though, you are sure to find something precious at Ginger Snaps Baby. The owner, Michele Duger, was gracious enough to send me some samples of her products, and they.are.adorable! Really. I'm in love with the Bag ID tags personalized with my girls' names. They are just darling. And, I'm a sucker for stationery, so I was tickled pink to receive some personalized notecards in a pretty and stylish

The debate regarding the true detriment of the industrial chemical BPA (Bisphenol A) used in bottles, pacifiers and sippy cups, appears to be a moot point. Mothers have spoken and industry leaders such as Avent, Dr. Browns, Nuby and Playtex have given in to the mounting pressure by parents and major suppliers like Babies R Us and Toys R Us.
As of today, almost all of the major players in the baby business have converted to a BPA FREE product assortment for consumers. This comes as welcome news to parents who had the fear of God thrust on them in recent months over the BPA debate. Again, the jury is still out as to the true negative effects of BPA products. But it seems the mere
