After spending a morning with DC Metro Stylist Joyce Neave, I walked away with a new found appreciation for her profession (read the full story).  As I shadowed Joyce during a session, I took meticulous notes as I wanted to report back to readers on every tidbit and tip that she shared.   As we dove into a morning of styling Joyce immediately starting offering advice on everything from bras to boots.  She joked that this is the type of conversation mothers use to have with their daughters.  As I thought back to my sweet Southern grandmother from Knoxville, TN I had to concur.

During a recent playdate, my neighbor and I went through our normal mini rants about what life had doled out that week.  As always, it was filled with a bit of lament about one topic or another.  As most mothers will agree, you love your kids but the job can be beyond tough!  As cranky kids signaled the end of our get together and conversation, we started to do the blitz of final thoughts and good-byes before all hell broke loose with the kids.   As my friend Heather picked up her son to head home she caught a glimpse of her shirt.  She just laughed and shook her head.   Her shirt showed the scars of "A day in the life of a mother". Given the current economy, I am always in search of a bargain.  With Spring Break and Summer 2009 fast approaching, I started looking at swimwear for my daughter.  Now roll your eyes if you must, but I have found the cutest suits for my little girl.  Plus, Target was already out of her size in one of the bathing suits I was after!  Apparently other parents are also looking for early bargains.

I am determined to get my legs in shape! I have a plan. I will eat healthy, exercise, and wear FitFlops.
