I have long been a fan of Cirque du Soleil. I have seen two shows in the DC Metro area and one in Las Vegas. The shows are simply mesmerizing. It is beyond astonishing what the human body can do with limited support, suspended in mid-air. Set to music, each Cirque du Solei show promises gravity defying acts executed by gifted dancers and performers. You are taken to another world.


Understandably, I was elated when I heard about the new Cirque du Soleil show that is coming to our area. Cirque du Soleil will return to Washington DC with its latest production, OVO. OVO will premiere on Thursday September 9, for a limited engagement under the trademark blue-and-yellow Grand Chapiteau (Big Top) at The Plateau at National Harbor in Washington DC.


A bit about the show, the name OVO means "egg" in Portuguese. OVO is a headlong rush into a colorful ecosystem teeming with life, where insects work, eat, crawl, flutter, play, fight and look for love. The show promises a non-stop journey of energy and movement. I am actually taking my little girl to this year's show.


The performances are Tuesdays thru Thursdays at 8:00 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays at 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. and Sundays at 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. There are no performances on Mondays. Cirque Club members can purchase advance tickets at this LINK. Membership is free. If you are a big fan, it is worth noting that Cirque Club members receive advance access to the great seats and ticket upgrades.

I have seen every Cirque Du Soleil that has come to the Washington area for the past 10 years. It is an amazing experience and to whoever wins these tickets, congratulations and enjoy!

DC metro mommy, Where have you been all my momming life?! What a great site! You are connected in! I happened across you while zooming around the internet to find something to cheer up my husband's inner child as he faces a nosediving business and a milestone birthday in the same year. Your site is so good to have on my radar, and a night at OVO would be such an uplifting evening for us!!

I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to have one of my family members accompany my 90 year old mother to see OVO. We all love everything about the circus, especially Cirque, and this would be a great treat for my mother who is recovering from a brain hematoma in January. Her room is filled with clowns, animals, lighted toys, and other fun and unique gizmos and gadgets, and she would truly delight at seeing these performers who always amuse and amaze. We believe that keeping her happy is a large part of keeing her healthy, and this is something she would enjoy and cherish for the rest of her life (we're aiming for 100).

If i get a chance to see Ovo it will be my third experience with the amazing Cirque du Soliel Artists! I feel everyone should have a chance to experince the Cirque at least once ion thier lifetime. I feel like Im a kid again when Im under the Grand Chapiteau!

I have seen Cirque du Soleil twice. Those were the best experiences I've ever had! Its really something for everyone to see at least once in thier lifetime!
