Motherhood Maternity was my home away from home when I was pregnant. I found one of the stores tucked away in the basement section of Macy's in Fair Oaks Mall. I really liked the selection of maternity gear. It was reasonably priced, cute, wore well and washed well. I mean please, what more do you need? Considering that most maternity clothes aren't even on you for your entire 9mths of fun, I thought this store provided all the ease I needed to get through trimester's two and three. Noteworthy, Leesburg Corner Outlet has a Motherhood Maternity store.
Old Navy

Ahh...remember when you thought you had graduated from Old Navy to the Gap and then onto Banana Republic. Well guess what, if you have given up your job for your bundle(s) of joy, something tells me that you are returning to the scene of the crime. I rediscovered Old Navy while I was pregnant. I continue to shop the inexpensive Gap spin-off for everything including my baby clothes, workout gear, maternity wear and everything summer. It won't disappoint! Noteworthy, you can shop online for a better selection of maternity wear. As an FYI, you can return online purchases to any Old Navy store.

A perennial favorite for women everywhere that have envisioned the day when they could be stylish and pregnant. I enjoy the store, but will warn you that the price doesn't always make sense. Paying $200.00 for a dress that you will wear a few times just doesn't do it for me. If you are required to continue to wear full business gear during your pregnancy or if you have a few special occasions this store may fit the bill for you. Noteworthy, bring your wallet and look for sale items.

This mega-store serves up everything from clothes to groceries. I love their Liz Lange maternity wear. I wasn't willing to spend $150.00 for a dress at Pea in a Pod. My Liz Lange gear held up well and didn't require a lot of ironing. Some kid’s clothing prices are a bit high. A better option is Kohl's. Target does get high marks for their Robeez knockoffs, which are 70% less than the brand name shoe. Diapers and formula are moderately priced, but are cheaper at wholesale clubs. NOTE, Target gets a big “Thumbs Down” on their baby furniture and web sales. Their return policies make gift registries a nightmare! Target is best for knick-knacks, cards, toiletries, clothing accessories and outdoor items. Be sure to check out the book shelves, storage solutions and robust toy selection. The toy section is easier to navigate than Toys R Us.

This sweet children's shop caters to those that love consignment. Whether you are looking for maternity gear, strollers, baby carriers or clothes, Wiggle Room won't disappoint. The Bethesda based store has some nice discounts for those looking for a bargain. Noteworthy, don't forget that when the time is right you can bring your slightly used baby gear to the shop to recoup some of your financial contribution to Junior's closet. |
