Bed, Bath & Beyond

Great destination for everything home. While I love Linen's N Things, I find a greater selection at Bed, Bath & Beyond. Some of BB&B's local stores are reconstructing store layouts to incorporate pharmacy and beauty items. Noteworthy, don't toss those coupons that you get in the mail or in your Sunday paper. I once saved $50.00 on a down comforter. Plus, you can use up to 5 coupons at one time. BB&B and Linens N Things honor each others coupons!

Lowe's
Check website for DC Metro locations
Lowe’s is my "top pick" for local home improvement store. They have a clean, easy set up that makes shopping fun. Home Depot can get a bit scary. I have found that Lowe's style, selection and product quality continues to crush Home Depot. I tend to think of Lowe's as a more consumer oriented home improvement venue, whereas Home Depot seems to cater to their bread and butter construction clientele. Take the path less traveled and seek out a Lowe's before the Depot. Happy Shopping!

Wal-Mart
Check website for DC Metro locations
Forget the "bomb shelter", in case of an emergency just head to Wal-Mart. We all know the drill, the store carries everything that one would need for LIFE! House wares, clothes, food, cards, crafts, tires, propane, etc. This store is truly all things to all people. If you are after a bargain for Junior there is no shortage of reasonably priced kids wear, shoes, toys, kids’ videos and electronics! Noteworthy, I will be honest, while Wal-Mart is heaven for a lot of folks, I tend to stay away from the mega-store. I find that the lines are long, the racks are overcrowded and the parking lots are mayhem. Still, if you are after one stop shopping and a great price you will want to hit this store. Just go early to avoid the crowds.
