We have all been to the "chain" interior stores where you get the feeling that you are paying more for the rent and catalog distribution than for quality furnishings. Aarhus is the exception to the rule. Many of the their items are truly one of kind pieces that I have been unable to find anywhere else. As the consummate bargain shopper, the prices still sting a bit. In truth, some furnishing (i.e. bedroom sets) could be found for a lesser price at a large furniture house; however, for that special dining table or heirloom sequel wing chair go for it. Noteworthy, Aarhus’s customer service is exceptional!

Exceptional offering housed in a barn like atmosphere. Don’t let the shabby chic digs fool you, Green Front carries a number of high end manufacturers that can be hard to find even in this area. My most cherished piece of furniture, a Harden Armoire, came from Green Front. Customer service was exceptional and delivery was better than most local competition.

We all know that Pottery Barn is the leader in catalog and retail furniture therapy. While I admit to a grapevine scroll wrought iron bed (circa 1996), a coffee table and a few file cabinets, I still think you need to shop price and furniture quality before buying from the Barn. Noteworthy, many discounted Pottery Barn goods can be found in the Leesburg Corner Outlet store. Also, hold onto a catalog or two. Their designers are great at putting a room together and have served as an inspiration for me after one of my many moves over the years.

Stanley is one of my favorite brands of furniture. I first discovered Stanley when I was shopping for a bedroom set. The North Carolina furniture houses promote and carry a number of Stanley items. I was impressed with the company's reputation, furniture lines and price. When it came time to purchase a crib and changing station I was elated to find that Stanley had an extensive line of youth furniture. That have a beautiful collection of nursery and children's furniture. If you don't believe me, check out the website. You will see that the items bare a striking resemblances to a number of the Pottery Barn Kids beds. I adore this store for home goods, kitchen wares, window treatments, and an endless supply of décor and knick-knack items. Think Pier I, but twice the size and selection. They also have a section that carries exotic teas, cookies, coffee and extensive selection of wine. Wicker baskets abound in the back corner of the store. They have reasonably priced dining tables, bar stools, bedroom sets and home office items like dark wood desks. Bonus, there is a nice assortment of white wicker baskets that are covered in pink or blue gingham. Great for a nursery! I have one for toys, one for books and a small one that holds diapers on my little one's changing table. I promise, you will find something that you will absolutely love at this store. Prices are very reasonable. You will keep coming back for more!
