Babies R Us Check website for DC Metro locations
Metro DC
If you are having a baby shower, look no further. Babies R Us is the place for one-stop shopping for all your newborn needs. All of the standard gear is represented: onesies, strollers, blankets, high chairs, cribs and everything else you little one needs. They also have a great baby registry complete with in-store customer service representatives to guide you through the process. Don’t rush the process. You will pay the price later with lots of returns. Take your time, test the products and ask other mothers. Trust me! Noteworthy, when registering try to go during off hours for prompt and thorough assistance. Don't forget to bring a mom, preferably one with a toddler. They know about all the new gear and the best stroller to pick!
Buy Buy Baby

Metro DC
Buy Buy Baby has EVERYTHING that you would need for your new arrival. The store is brimming with every possible infant necessity. The store also carries an amazing stock of high end baby clothes and shoes. The selection is great, but be warned clothing prices tend to be high on some items. Sign up for coupons and wait for a sale. Noteworthy, they have a wonderful staff that is always willing to help.
One Step Ahead
On the Web www.OneStepAhead.com Think Brookstone for kids. This catalog is filled with gizmo's and gadget for infants to toddlers. I honestly thought this was a little silly considering all of the local baby stores in the DC Metro area. I will admit, I have grown to love One Step Ahead. They have an awesome booster seat that travels and washes well. They also have great accessories for the tub. Yes, this is now the time that you will be excited by an electronic nasal aspirator. This is the catalog that will show what you will need before you realize that it is a "must have". Enjoy the brave new world of infants☺
Target

You would be surprised at some of the quality kids' photos that the mega store produces. Noteworthy, take a look at the work (if available) and request the photographer that most suits your needs. Also, ask around. You are bound to find one mother in your local group that has the name of their favorite "Target" photographer.
Toys R Us

Metro DC
The king of all toy stores. Now I must admit, the quaint and trendy boutique shops that I have visited for DC Metro Mommy recon have been adorable. Having said that, if want and exceptional selection with competitive prices, you can't beat the big name stores. Sign up for coupon reminders online and shop off hours whenever possible. Noteworthy, if you are in need of baby gear try to seek out Babies R Us versus Toys R Us. Toys R Us is ideal for bikes not strollers and car seats.
Wal-Mart

Forget the "bomb shelter", in case of an emergency just head to Wal-Mart. We all know the drill, the store carries everything that one would need for LIFE! House wares, clothes, food, cards, crafts, tires, propane, etc. This store is truly all things to all people. If you are after a bargain for Junior there is no shortage of reasonably priced kids wear, shoes, toys, kids’ videos and electronics! Noteworthy, I will be honest, while Wal-Mart is heaven for a lot of folks, I tend to stay away from the mega-store. I find that the lines are long, the racks are overcrowded and the parking lots are mayhem. Still, if you are after one stop shopping and a great price you will want to hit this store. Just go early to avoid the crowds☺ |
