The verdict is in, EXCELLENT! This is the word I most hear when women describe the Breastfeeding Center of Greater Washington. The classes are free and come loaded with information. The location also offers and endless offering of supplies for the breastfeeding mother. They will even size you for a nursing bra. Take that Victoria Secret! Classes fill up fast. Get there in plenty of time to get a good seat. Noteworthy, visitors to the location LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Pat Shelly. She is a miracle worker for moms who are having trouble with breastfeeding.

INOVA Health System
Northern VA
www.inova.org/
For those who aren't familiar with the INOVA health system, they are the largest in Northern Virginia. The flagship hospital "INOVA Fairfax" offers a trauma center, a top of the line neo-natal unit and is normally in the US Top 10 for annual birth and deliveries. This is a lean-mean baby machine for local woman. As one would expect, they offer a wide variety of classes for expectant and new moms. Most moms that I have spoken with absolutely feel in the love with the classes and counselors. Noteworthy, you will get solid advice from trained professionals, but some local moms have warned that it depends on your instructor. To assist with your search, I would recommend calling to find out more information before you sign up for any classes.

If you are looking for a "friend" to guide you through the early stages of breastfeeding you have come to the right place. Northern VA Lactation has become the place to go to in Fairfax. The founder, Josie Tullo, has put together a warm staff and a user friendly program to help those who are desperate for help. Not to be graphic, but even with bleeding nipples, lack of latching and many more issues have all been resolved with the help of this center. Noteworthy, the center offers reasonable rates on breast pumps, nursing bras and more. The biggest attraction is the staff!
